Student email
Laptop with Working Camera and Working Microphone
Cameras on during class!
SAT Accelerate combines SAT Live with SAT Advancedconcurrently leading up to the October SAT and PSAT. This is available for seniors, but it is specifcially designed for high-scoring Juniors who are candidates for National Merit Semifinalists.
The October SAT is on 10/3. Most Juniors will take the PSAT just five days later on 10/8. Two courses. Two tests. One month. This course is rigorous: six hours of prep each weekend for four weekends plus two hours per night for the five weeknights leading up to the test.
Sessions take place over fully-interactive, engaging Zoom lessons. Each session is Live, with 100% student engagement. The lessons are positive, powerful, and dynamic. A working camera and microphone are required. Students must have cameras on for this course! A working student email is required. Email is essential for this course!
To be successful you need to know the test from top to bottom, from the meta-level concepts to the skills, tricks, and hacks that make up your toolkit. SAT Live is the core course where students learn the essentials:
independent and dependent clauses
subject-verb agreement
reading for the main idea
transitions
notes (aka “rhetorical synthesis”)
systems of equations
percents
quadratics
subbing-in
geometry and trig
Desmos!
SAT Advanced Course for the August SAT is fast paced, focusing on high-level Math topics and skills. It is designed to build on SAT Live, the core course for the Digital SAT. In SAT Accelerate, the curriculum is specifically paced to align the two courses.
The course includes…
Math
Percent
Exponential Functions
Statistics and Average
Advanced Geometry
Rational Exponents
Verbal
Hard Charts/Graphs Reading Questions
Inference Questions
Deep-Dive into Transitions
Besides covering key topics, in SAT Advanced I also mix in a variety of hard-level questions of all types at the end of each session. Survivor is a competition where each student gets 2 minutes per question. Whoever gets it right “survives" to the next round and we go until there’s only one student left standing. The winner gets $$$ (I send it thru Venmo)…$10, $20, $50, or $100 depending on the number of questions they get correct. It’s a way to increase the stakes and make it more like the pressure on test day. This is the part that simply cannot be simulated in self-study.
All materials are digital. Each lesson is recorded. Students are invited to a OneDrive folder where they can access all videos, lessons, study guides, and practice tests.
SAT Accelerate for the October 2025 SAT/PSAT meets for four weekends starting September 6th/7th PLUS weeknights (Monday through Friday) for the one week leading up to the October 4 SAT.
For the SAT Live classes, there are two options for Verbal and two Options for Math. You can mix/match from week to week to fit your schedule!
